Our FLL team was fortunate and honored to meet several beekeepers in our county. We were able to discuss the importance of bees and their impact on society. For further information about the Chester County Beekeepers Association, please visit their Facebook page: Chester County Beekeepers

A few details we learned from the beekeepers association. The pesticide being used to spray mosquitoes with the Zika virus has also been killing millions of bees, which is not good for our environment. More than 25 percent of the managed honeybee population has disappeared since the year 1990. U.S. honeybees also produce about $150 million in honey annually.
